Why Are NY Nightclub Lines So Long?

I was working @ Marquee Saturday night and Wass Stevens (the infamous doorman who works @ Marquee and Avenue nightclubs and is also on TV in Brooklyn’s Finest and some other films AND he is the face of the vodka drink WODKA drive by CANAL street and you will see WASS on a billboard above a high rise on this street) brought something to my attention but I already knew it was the reason doormen did it. He made me and my crew wait 2 minutes to walk in the club because “I dont want to lose the line troy.” Doormen like to keep some people in the line OR queue in order to maker passers-by believe that the club is as NYorkers say “poppin.” Of course his timing could not have been any greater as I had 4 amazingly gorgeous girls from Germany with me and I was quite embarrassed and had to ask him to change his policy for this one time which he did.
