If you like cars - the BMW Art Cars installation will take you for a wild ride.

The BMW Art Cars project was originally conceived in 1975 by French racecar driver Hervé Poulain. He had the idea of inviting an artist, his friend American artist Alexander Calder, to use his automobile, a BMW racing car, as a canvas. Since then, sixteen of the world’s most respected artists have designed BMW Art Cars, which have been exhibited by the finest museums and galleries, from the Louvre in Paris to the Guggenheim Museums in New York and Bilbao.

The cars are designed by Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Robin Rhode and Robert Rauschenberg and are parts of a public art installation at Grand Central Station.

The BMW Art Cars were accompanied by rare video footage that revealed a young Warhol painting his car.
Stella and Rauschenberg were also present discussing their inspirations and influences in creating their respective pieces.
