Breaking the bread

Neighboring Balthazar supplies the ciabatta rolls and baguettes – and that’s a good enough reason to have lunch at Bread.
That’s why my friend Shalize and I decided to meet here to catch up on all the latest gossip about men, mice – and other Manhattan phenomenons. And I also felt that my road kill from Sunday needed to go for a stroll.
My Gorgonzola Dolce with golden delicious apples and honey on cranberry raisin bread. All sandwiches come with a mesclun-and-cherry-tomato salad saved from the humdrum by a tasty soy-sauce-touched dressing.

Shalize’s Lasagna Bolognese

In between eating delicious bread you can for example try to pose pretending that you don’t know that someone is taking a picture.

After concluding that men are from mysterious planets and women are from some other planets – we left the crispy restaurant full, happy and energized. Shalize going back to her study books – me going back to my transcripts from the Steve Martin interview I did this weekend. It was the Pink Panther 2 movie junket, and Steve had more foundation on than any women or drag queen I have ever seen. And it was not a joke. He was not pretending he was Inspector Clouseau (I think…). Hm, anyway. See you at Bread next time! I like the staff, the food – and the interiours are very light and refreshing on a cold winter day.

I use a compact Olympus U 1020 with 10,1 megapixels. It’s great. I lov it.
