We are not getting younger (except from Brad Pitt). But who wants to stuff their face with botox to look like you’ve seen a ghost? Not me.
It’s not that I would ever consider botox because I don’t actually think it makes you look younger. It makes you look exactly the same – just with a weird twist. Yeah – you don’t look 45 anymore – but 45 with botox. That’s the only difference. Anyway, I am not 45 yet, but I am of course worried about getting old and look like a leather bag, so when SPAce for Wellness offered me to test their “natural botox” treatment I was very excited.
Robert Giordano did the procedure on me – and he explained how it all works:
Botox is paralyzing the muscles, and you are filling your face with unnatural products, but acupuncture works almost the opposite way. Acupuncture stimulates the blood stream to particular areas, and that will make the skin look smoother in that area. You also have to watch your diet and drink a lot of water.
The technique uses the principles of traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate muscle tone, aid in circulation, assist in detoxification as well as enhancing the body’s vital energy (referred to as chi’ ).
Robert put needles in my face – and some other points on my body. Even one in my head.
I rested for about 20 minutes before he removed them. The areas were the needles were before were a bit swollen afterwards, but when I met Celine she said: “Wow, you look like you’re 19.” I know that is not true, but I do feel like a million bucks, or at least a thousand (don’t want to be greedy these days) – and I will go back for more. By the summer I will look like I am 12.
