For millions of laid-off Americans, life in recession equals boredom and depression. So if you’re single, there is no time like the present to go out there and search for a significant other. Find Mr Right (or like Samantha Jones would say it: Why look for Mr Right when you can have Mr Right Now). And why not eat some cheese cake while you ‘re at it. Evrything in life is better with cheese! Just say it. Cheese!
If you are shy, why not do like Tom Hanks? Hide behind the newspaper when you are meeting your date. That makes it just so exciting – and you feel like a spy. Anyway my point is that the cafe scene from You’ve Got Mail is shot at Cafe Lalo on Upper West Side.
This is the place in where Tom Hanks realizes that Meg Ryan is “shopgirl”. The cozy cafe, is famous for its long opening hours and creative decorations. The place is always busy – filled with all kinds of people, so here its someone and something for everyone!
The staff is also very friendly.
Cafe Lalo provides yummy hot chocolate, but the best thing is their cheese cakes. They got as many as 27 various sorts!
