Welcome to Butter Lane, a place that is much sweeter than Wisteria Lane.
Today it was one of our friend’s birthday, so I decided to stop by Butter Lane in East Village to get a customized good looking cupcake – which could even make Bree Van Der Kamp jealous.

Here I randomly ran into Jane and Kelly, who was testing frostings for free – among the 17 different flavors!

They quickly found their favorites – Espresso and lime.

The cupcakes are $ 2,75 each.

Butter lane focus on pure ingredients in their cupcakes with real vanilla bean, pure cocoa, and dark chocolate — along with locally sourced organic dairy ingredients. Which we and the cow loves.

And the result? Yummy cakes that doesn’t taste like you are just chewing sugar – like most other cupcakes in this city.

Another good thing : The Butter Lane housewives are not bitchy like the ones you find in Wisteria Lane. These chicks even bicycles to your home with fresh cupcakes. Thumbs up!

Even Martha and the rest of the Stewart crew housewives are big fans of the cupcakes from Butter Lane.

Butter Lane opened three months ago – but they are still going strong. It seems like people still like to treat themselves with sweets in these recession times. The little cupcake house quickly became popular and it was nominated as one of the best new bakeries just a couple of months after their opening.

This little house could have fitted straight into the neighborhood in Fairview.
