Better safe

I love when things happen in my hood so I stopped by Rebecca Turbows Fall 2009 Collection Presentation.

The collection is called SAFE and it was presented at Moeller Snow Gallery on Bond Street. Drawing from diverse inspirations like Joan Miró, Jane Birkin and early 60s Pierre Cardin and Yves Saint Laurent, the new collection features a range of pieces including outerwear, party dresses, smart yet casual separates, graphic T-shirts featuring Safe’s signature gumdrop motif and loungewear. Turbow’s presentation of her clothing is unorthodox as well. An independent designer at heart, Turbow recently created custom designs for indie rock bands Of Montreal, Tilly and the Wall, Japanther, Islands and Rainer Maria.
The designer was happy to share her thought with us:

And so was Jaizen Homiller:

Shifting from her signature turquoise hue that brought Turbow her initial acclaim to a sleek, yet soft Gray, Safe F/W 2009 is anything but dreary. Made to outfit the modern woman with complementary silhouettes and creative detailing, Safe has developed a strong cult following over the years.
